Dry Van – A covered trailer used for moving goods

Heavy Haul – Moving oversize loads too large for road travel without an escort and special permit
Lease Purchase Program – Program allowing use of truck for a stipulated period with option to buy with part of charges credited toward the purchase price
LTL – Insufficient in weight to make a minimum truckload
Over Dimensional Trucking – Hauling a load that exceeds the standard or ordinary legal size and/or weight limits for a specified portion of road, highway or other transport infrastructure
Owner Operator – A person who owns and operates a commercial motor vehicle
Refrigerated Transportation – Moving freight requiring temperature controlled trailer
Superload – A super load is when the load exceeds the dimensions of a state’s “routine permit limits” and is non divisible, meaning it can’t be broken down into smaller parts for shipping
Truckload – A load or amount that fills or could fill a truck
