Oversize loads traveling on U.S. 83 in Kansas might need to share their load and location using the KanDrive app if they exceed certain dimensions, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT).

KDOT received a $6.7 million grant to improve safety on U.S. 83 in western Kansas. Oversize truck drivers must report their load size and location via the KanDrive app if their load is 14 feet wide or more, or 126 feet or longer, an effort to help keep everyone safe on the road.
Oversize load drivers that meet the criteria must enter your permit number in the KanDrive app to share your location to start their trip. When you’re on U.S. 83, it will show only your vehicle’s location and its allowed size (width, length, height).
The KanDrive app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
